"FATIMA, THE WAR NURSE."

1.Theme
"We have different races and colors, but our voices and hearts are one."

2. Connection
The text connects us to our real-life situation right now, wherein there is a global pandemic that we are facing. Our nurses are like Fatima. Even though some people are afraid to mingle with them because of their job (the warriors of this crisis), they still sacrifice their time, safety, and health to serve us, to serve people who are in need of medication, and to serve our country.

3.Alternate Title
  The Paragon Nurse

4. Author's Purpose
The poet wants us to open our eyes and to not judge one another based on their race and appearances. He wants us to remember that we are equal even though we have different races, languages, and colors. The goal is one, and this is to eradicate racism, but instead to promote unity and peace.

5.Media Influence
I believe that this poem could sway one's beliefs, words and action towards our Muslims brother/ sister. This poem can bring a positive perspective.

6.Favorite Line

7.Figurative Language
The figurative language being used is Imagery. It add more deeper layer of meaning because it can give you vivid imagination about the  poem.

8. Symbolism
The pink veil. The veil symbolizes modesty and obedience and the color pink is thought to be a calming color associated with love, kindness and feminity.

9.Lines
" When Alhamdulillah came out of the wounded man's mouth."
Because of this line, Fatima became more determined to cure more people.

10.Stanza
"Repelled her, refuse her care, for she was wearing a veil.
She had not to remove her tondong.
She had turned to another patient, since then
She give a slight smile behind her surgical mask."
This stanza shows how kind Fatima is, that even though some people are repelled and refuse her care, she still treats them the same. And when the word Alhamdulillah came out of the man's mouth, she couldn't help but smile behind her surgical mask.

11.Rhyme
Repelled her, refused her care

This has a lot of impact on the poem because of the way she was rejected just because of the veil she was wearing. The man was judging Fatima's personality according to the veil she was wearing, which is not good for him in his situation at that time, for he is in need of assistance. The line also shows Fatima's refusal of Fatima's aid and how it affected her job to cure everybody, but that didn't stop her from aiding the others.

12.Quartrain
"Repelled her, refused her care, for she was wearing a veil.
She had not removed her tondong.
She had turned to another patient, since then.
She gave a slight smile behind her surgical mask"
Rhyme scheme-
Simple four line rhyme (ABCD)

13. Rythm
The rhythm of the poem depends on the readers.

14.Mood
The mood of the story is being Determined and Positive. Despite all the criticisms she received just because of her culture of wearing a veil. People may feel like she's dirty but she was determined enough to serve.

15.Tone
The tone of the poem is Persuasive. This urges us to be united and seek peace together as we hear each other screams of help. This pushes us to be hopeful of a brighter tomorrow, and that's what the author Nassefh Macla wants us to feel, to be hopeful.
