Salt Analysis :     The poem entitled "salt" is the creative work of Anamika. In my own analysis the word salt in the poem represents the earth's sorrow, like pain and sufferings that we tend to experience here on our planet earth. According to the poem men's heart is a salt mountain it is because men are those who are known to hide pain and emotions in their hearts and women are the salt of the earth because imagine, if a dish has no salt in it it will be palatable because it lacks of ingredients. What I am trying to say is that a girl is the salt or the important ingredient of the earth because without women, planet earth would be empty and lonely and of course people will no longer exist because men cannot produce baby on their own without the presence of a woman. The lines mentioned in the poem represents pain, sorrow and other emotional feeling that resides inside a persons heart. In this line "by God's tears and man's sweat" this represents th...

"FATIMA, THE WAR NURSE."

Image
1. Theme "We have different races and colors, but our voices and hearts are one." 2. Connection   The text connects us to our real-life situation right now, wherein there is a global pandemic that we are facing. Our nurses are like Fatima. Even though some people are afraid to mingle with them because of their job (the warriors of this crisis), they still sacrifice their time, safety, and health to serve us, to serve people who are in need of medication, and to serve our country. 3. Alternate Title   The Paragon Nurse 4. Author's Purpose  The poet wants us to open our eyes and to not judge one another based on their race and appearances. He wants us to remember that we are equal even though we have different races, languages, and colors. The goal is one, and this is to eradicate racism, but instead to promote unity and peace. 5. Media Influence   I believe that this poem could sway one's beliefs, words and action towards our Muslims brother/ sister. This poem ca...

POSTER & ESSAY

Image
The picture above shows my interpretation of the story entitled "PRELUDES" by Daryll Delgado.       My poster is about gender inequality in terms of the issue of infedility. It reflects a kind of relationship in this generation wherein one of the partners in a married couple is being unfaithful in their relationship. I felt sad that some people are like Nenita, whereas they know that their partner is cheating on them but doesn't seem to mind or care. Even though she is hurt and has lost her dignity as a woman, she still loves, cares, and serves her husband.   Sometimes we can be like Nenita, who thought that she would put justice in her own hands, but she chose not to do so because of her conscience. Many people are not content with what they have, which can be the reason they sin. It's natural if you want to be richer (by doing it right, of course), or if you want to get higher grades, but cheating on your own wife is not something that is natu...

PRELUDES

Image
Guide Questions:   1)What is a prelude? Why is that the title of the story?     Answer: Most preludes, in a literary sense, serve the purpose of giving back story or exposition for the rest of the story. For Daryll Delgado to name his story "Preludes", it suggests that there are multiple introductions that serve to give expository information for something more substantial.    2) What does Nenita feel for her husband? Why do you think she feels that way?   Answer: Nenita feels that it is not her right to take the life of her husband, let alone take action against his activities. Therefore, she blindly serves her role as an obedient wife.    3) What does her herbalista friend feel about Nenita's husband?   Answer: The herbalista is mad at Nenita's husband because of what the husband keeps on doing to Nenita. And her herbalist friend feels guilty because she gave a poisonous plant to Nenita.  4) Who was t...

LESSON 3: MOTIVATION

Interviewees:Roanna Lynn B. Poliran                       :  Christian                        Why does it seem acceptable in Philippine society for husbands to have affairs with other women? =For me, people believe that Philippines is accepting or normalizing husbands to cheat. But they're not. Philippines is not accepting it, it's just the point of view to those people who doesn't know the whole story why the husband did it. We as a human makes mistake so as they cheat (Though it's not acceptable that they didn't did it on purpose). You can tell wives are fragile, but we cannot blame them. =It's not acceptable, but you see Filipino women, most of whom value their family more than their emotions. Men always use their excuse of being men just to get away with their vicious and lustful infidelity. It is acceptable for women? Why or why not? What do you think or feel...

THE WITCH by: Edilberto K. Tiempo                       Analysis    Analysis of The Witch by Edilberto Tiempo is a reflection of the people. In this case, Filipino provincials tend to believe what is the talk of the town, regardless of knowing the real issue behind it. The narrator in the short story was an unnamed 12 year old boy who lived in a town surrounded by barrios. He was a flat character. In line with these texts, 'once I was told to go to Libas with a bottle of business concern for Tio Sabelos' wife, and I thought of bringing place shrimp to my mother', he was portrayed in the story as an obedient and dutiful lad. Being a 12 year old boy, he was easily affected by the rumors surrounding him, to the point of almost believing them without reasonable proofs. He was unnamed because he lacks his own identity. Toward the end, he said the jumping eyes of the biggest, which was still alive, seemed to glare at me--...
