"FATIMA, THE WAR NURSE."

Image
1. Theme "We have different races and colors, but our voices and hearts are one." 2. Connection   The text connects us to our real-life situation right now, wherein there is a global pandemic that we are facing. Our nurses are like Fatima. Even though some people are afraid to mingle with them because of their job (the warriors of this crisis), they still sacrifice their time, safety, and health to serve us, to serve people who are in need of medication, and to serve our country. 3. Alternate Title   The Paragon Nurse 4. Author's Purpose  The poet wants us to open our eyes and to not judge one another based on their race and appearances. He wants us to remember that we are equal even though we have different races, languages, and colors. The goal is one, and this is to eradicate racism, but instead to promote unity and peace. 5. Media Influence   I believe that this poem could sway one's beliefs, words and action towards our Muslims brother/ sister. This poem ca...

POSTER & ESSAY

Image
The picture above shows my interpretation of the story entitled "PRELUDES" by Daryll Delgado.       My poster is about gender inequality in terms of the issue of infedility. It reflects a kind of relationship in this generation wherein one of the partners in a married couple is being unfaithful in their relationship. I felt sad that some people are like Nenita, whereas they know that their partner is cheating on them but doesn't seem to mind or care. Even though she is hurt and has lost her dignity as a woman, she still loves, cares, and serves her husband.   Sometimes we can be like Nenita, who thought that she would put justice in her own hands, but she chose not to do so because of her conscience. Many people are not content with what they have, which can be the reason they sin. It's natural if you want to be richer (by doing it right, of course), or if you want to get higher grades, but cheating on your own wife is not something that is natu...

PRELUDES

Image
Guide Questions:   1)What is a prelude? Why is that the title of the story?     Answer: Most preludes, in a literary sense, serve the purpose of giving back story or exposition for the rest of the story. For Daryll Delgado to name his story "Preludes", it suggests that there are multiple introductions that serve to give expository information for something more substantial.    2) What does Nenita feel for her husband? Why do you think she feels that way?   Answer: Nenita feels that it is not her right to take the life of her husband, let alone take action against his activities. Therefore, she blindly serves her role as an obedient wife.    3) What does her herbalista friend feel about Nenita's husband?   Answer: The herbalista is mad at Nenita's husband because of what the husband keeps on doing to Nenita. And her herbalist friend feels guilty because she gave a poisonous plant to Nenita.  4) Who was t...
